Qualified from Kings College Hospital Dental school in 1972. After working in the West End, David bought the Orpington Practice in 1974 and took it from a one surgery practice to where it is today, before selling it in 2009.
Facial Aesthetics
Dr. Mercer has undergone extensive training to further his interest in facial aesthetics and rejuvenation. He can offer line and wrinkle correction with botulinum toxin and dermal fillers. Facial sculpting is also possible with certain fillers. This includes lip and cheek enhancement.
Facial and skin rejuvenation
Dr. Mercer is trained in the Genuine Dermaroller treatment to rejuvenate the skin. This is an alternative to skin peels and laser treatments and has the advantage of not suffering the down time after these treatments.
Dr. Knight qualified in 1977 from Kings College Hospital dental school. Did a six month house job in conservation and then joined "The Lindens" in the summer of 1978.
He has an interest in cosmetic dentistry (Bridges, Veneers, Bleaching) and more recently helps the orthodontist to reduce the NHS waiting list.
He is married with two grown up children and his hobbies include golf, hockey and going to the gym. He enjoys fine food, wine and vintage port.
Dr. R. Bateman qualified from King College Hospital in 1978 and started practising at "The Lindens" straightaway. An early interest in orthodontics nurtured with many training courses over the years culminated in admission to the GDC's specialist register in 2000. A member of the British Orthodontic Society and the European orthodontic Society, regular attendance at their respective conferences and additionally to the American Orthodontic conferences keeps him abreast of this fast moving speciality.
Vice chairman of the Croydon Local Dental committee and chairman of the Croydon Local orthodontic committee as well as secretary of the Bromley LOC keep him busy outside surgery. Additionally he is the Orthodontic advisor to Richmond and Twickenham P.C.T.
Hobbies include golf, tennis, motor racing, and flying.
Dr. McConnell qualified from King College Hospital in 1987 and joined The Lindens as a partner in 2009.
He has special interests in Dental Implantology, Endodontics and Cosmetic dentistry.

He is highly experienced in both the surgical and restorative aspects of practice based implant dentistry, and has been placing and restoring dental implants since 1991.
Away from the practice he enjoys skiing, motorcycling & rugby and coaches junior rugby at his local club.
Periodontist and Implant SurgeonDr Chaido Akrivopoulou graduated from the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany in 2005. After gaining valuable experience in general dentistry and oral surgery in private practice in Frankfurt, Chaido moved to the UK. In 2007 she was selected for the specialist training in Periodontology at the world-renowned Eastman Dental Institute (University College London), which she has successfully completed. This is one of the very few programmes in Europe and the only one in the UK, which are recognized from the European Federation of Periodontology (EFP). In 2009 Chaido was appointed as a part time Honorary Clinical Assistant in Periodontology at the Eastman Dental Hospital. She is also actively involved in research, both in the field of clinical oral microbiology and in implant dentistry. Chaido is about to complete her Doctorate thesis on the survival and success of fixed partial dentures on Ankylos® implants.
Chaido has extensive experience with the treatment of advanced gum disease with expertise on both conventional and regenerative periodontal surgery, as well as periodontal plastic surgery and complex implant therapy. The treatment modalities our periodontist is applying are based on the latest available scientific evidence and are aiming at achieving long-term periodontal health and addressing the patient's functional and aesthetic demands.
Karen first qualified as a dental nurse and then went on to study hygiene as a civilian with the Royal Navy qualifying in 1981. After spending two years in the periodontal department at University College Dental school she worked in the West End for five years before working in practices more local to home. Karen joined the practice in 1985 and remains dedicated to providing dental health education and support for all our patients. A member of the British Dental Hygienist and Therapist association she has always enjoyed regular continuing professional education. Away from dentistry she is a mother to two boys and enjoys family life.
Jane qualified as a Dental Surgery Assistant and then went on to qualify as a Dental Hygienist in 1984 from St.George’s Hospital London. Since. then she has been working in a variety of dental practices, including over 15years in a dental practice in Chelsea, London and currently works in a practice closer to her home as she has been for 22 years, along with her work in Lindens Dental Practice. She continues to enjoy promoting dental health and education to her patients, and attends regular continued professional development courses. Outside of work Jane enjoys family life with her husband and her two daughters.
